Sunday Post~Valley of Jehosophat

May all students be prosperous, the Lord covers you... Because He loves you.

Luke 5:4.. Launch out into the deep.
Stewardship.
Everything we have is from God, everything we do, we do it a servants of the Lord. As we work, we need to have the right attitude.
Work unto the Lord.

Cultivating the presence of God through worship.
Simple acts of love, (Psalms 22:3) are worship to the Lord.
The Lord manifests in the presence of his people.
As we love God's people, God manifests.
We are encouraged to continue

Worship as an act of Spiritual war fare.
David discovered the secret of worship, his life was never a very smooth life.
David as a young boy had to learn how to fight lions.
He was anointed as a king, and the king started to plan to kill him.
David's life was difficult, but he discovered the secret of praise and worship.
When you prise in spirit, your mind becomes redundant, it no longer focuses in the pains of this world.

The mind becomes redundant and the spirit man becomes active. We r living in constant warfare, an as children of the Lord, we must confront grants.

2 Corinthians 10:3-5, Our wweapons r not cannel, but are mighty through God. They cast down imaginations, the enemy within. We should confront the enemy within our imaginations.
The enemy within our imagination manifests in form of:
- Fear, when fear begins to rule your life an u don't act appropriately, it starts to ruin your life, fear blocks the mind, makes you dull.

Confronting the external enemy using praise and worship.
2 Chronicles 20:1 ~Story of Jehoshaphat.. He was the King of Judah. Jehoshaphat means the Lord judges.

Ahab was a king of Israel, the Bible describes him to have done the the most detestable things on Earth.
Jehoshaphat allied with Ahab, even married his daughter, so he begun to get into trouble.

But, as Jehoshaphat was being attacked by enemies from many sides, he consulted of the Lord, he declared a fast allover his kingdom. When u r in the valley of Jehoshaphat, sometimes you do things that are not in your normal routine.
***In the valley of Jehosphat****
While in the Valley of Jehoshaphat, seek if the Lord....

They had to take up there position and stand fairm, don't be afraid, don't be discouraged. (once you conquer the inner enemy, you can attack the outer enemy)

All Jerusalem worshiped before the Lord.
Have faith in the Lord and you will be upheald, have faith in His prophets and you will be victorious.
"Give thanks to the Lord for His love endures for ever"

Jehoshaphat feared, when faced with fear, those are the times when we must turn to God. When faced with giants in live, turn to God.
****When you worship the Lord, your mind becomes redundant, and your spirit becomes active*****

Even when demons attack you in dreams, don't wake up defeated.

***The battle is not mine, it is for the Lord****
Declare that till it moves from your head to the heart. Don't carry along the giant to fear with you, be like Joshua and Caleb, yes you have seen the giants, but you acn conquer them.

Giants have a way of intimidating ~Goliath.

2 Corinthians 20:23
As you begin to sing and praise, the Lord will send ambushes against your enemies, and they will be defeated.
Your enemies will start to fight against each other.
The giants will become dead bodies lying on the ground.
Once they are defeated, you will carry there plunder, you will have there wealth, more than you can take.
***There was solo much plunder, it took 3 days to collect****

The valley of death will turn to a valley if blessing. The pace to this day is called the valley of Baraka
- Your mourning is turned into dancing, your sorrows into joy.

All men returned joyfully to Jerusalem for the Lord had given them reason to rejoice.

And your kingdom will be at peace for God gives you rest.

***In that valley of trouble, God can turn it into blessings, when you depend on the Lord***

Walk in the presence of the Lord and you will be victorious.

Sunday Post~ Love 1 John. 4:19-21

From #LiveNow: in todays' #WorshipService we join in sharing the WORD Elder Nataka Nathan.

When we love people, we open so many doors and release so many blessings upon our lives. Gen.18:10

Sarah: An act of love in Sarah's life evoked God to release a blessing in Sarah's life.Gen:18:13

Mordecai: Est. 2:21 An act of love and kindness that caused the kings life to be saved was rewarded.

Every time you show love; as an act of obedience to God's word, you evoke Gods reward. Est.6:1ff the king remembered the act of kindness. everything was reversed. Love will elevate you with dignity and honour.

There are some difficult people to love. Don't give up on loving. when you love, do not expect a return but because God says so and He will reward you.

When you feel your act of love has not been appreciated, man has limitation to appreciate but God has no limitation; Zep.3:17 "the Lord your God is mighty to save you and will take great delight in you. He will quiet you with His love."
  • He loves you even when your doors and no one can come in. God can
  • Even when we feel rejected and we are not remembered.
  • God loves us even through our wickedness
  • His love knows no limit

Sunday Post~Responding to God's Love

Four different words for  love 1 John 4;7ff

Storge- The family kind of love Eph. 5;21-26, i.e. love between father, mother, children and servants, in a family setting.

Eros-  The husband-wife kind of love
The Lord created romance and romance is beautiful in the context of marriage. Song of songs 1;9 Gen.29;10. Jacob/Rachael-Jacob kissed Rachael and cried aloud. Gen. 29;10-11; Romantic or lustful
amon/Tamar 2Sam. 13;14-15- Lust not Love.

Phileo- The friendship kind of love
A warm and friendly love, an open love with affection such as illustrated by David and Jonathan - 1 Sam.18;1;3

Agape- The God kind of love
This love is unconditional; no matter what the other party does to you. It is a love with a commitment.

When God commits to love us He expects us to respond.
In response to Gods love, we ought to conduct ourselves in a way that will please him.

To love God is to know Him;
Love is show-able, it is seen, JESUS CHRIST is the evidence of God's love towards mankind
RESPONSE 1- Receive His love through His SON
RESPONSE 2- Love one another as a command
RESPONSE 3- Receive the Spirit of God
RESPONSE 4- Share your possessions with those in need
RESPONSE 5- Worship HIM- Matt.4;10
''If H.E the President Gen. Yoweri Kaguta walked in here, church, we would all stand up to honour him; while if JESUS walked in with His glorified body, We would all fall  down to worship Him''

Sunday Post ~Personal Testimony/Exhortations

Scriptural Reference: Job.14:7
There is so much hope for all of us, regardless whatever we have been through.
Your destiny is not dead! God still commands it.
God can turn your curse  into a blessing
Fall in love with Jesus, you will never be disappointed!
Bitterness is food for demons, avoid harboring bitterness!
Love Jesus Extravagantly!
Love Jesus Practically!
Love Jesus Publicly! He will do just the same to you.

"I got beatings from my father even before i was born"

Pastor- Chemonges John

Acts.16:23-26
Sometimes life can get us into a fix and life presses us so hard.
this is because the foundations of our life are intact.
we need these foundations to be shaken as we worship, just like Paul and Silas while in Prison.

Ps.22:3- God inhabits the praises of His children
when we lead a life of praise and worship we dwell in the presence of God.
Foundations hold you in a situation while doors keep you in that confinement, the chains also hold you in place even with open doors.
when you have praise on your lips, doors will swing open for you, the atmosphere around you will be freed and the heavens will be opened.

Sunday Post~CultivatingGodsPresence

Launching into the deep by #CultivatingGodsPresence [Luke.5:4]
[Heb.13:14-15]-Continually offer a sacrifice.
When your're launching into the deep you must be armed
have a life jacket, you're not in shallow waters, you must be ready.
  • Praise means Showing Approval and Admiration [Psa. 107:21-22]
  • Worship is showing reverence to God

[John.4:22]; IT IS NOT ABOUT THE PLACE WHERE YOU WORSHIP
Isaiah. 29:13 The shallow end is the Mouth, the deep end is your heart; the shallow end is muddy and contains weak, small fish whereas the deep end contains big and strong fish.
It is high time we marry our heart with our lips.
There is something extra somebody has done to gain an extra gain. The difference between ordinary and extraordinary is the "extra".
[2Sam.6:14]- David did the "extra" in praising His God.

Sunday Post~Cultivating Gods Presence through Music

There is a way God works through Music;

  • Praise and worship gives you an intimate relationship with God
  • Don't wake up each day for routine purpose but for intimacy with God for the Spirit of God delights in the Worship of men.
  • Don't focus on the problems and issues of life, they distract our constant worship to God.
  • Our praises invoke the presence from heaven because God dwells in the praises of His saints.
  • The Worship Team commands the presence of God. If they are found lacking, this will affect the entire meaning of the worship.
  • We should praise God regardless of how we are feeling. There is a power in Worship that can transform our lives.

2 Chron. 5:2 God needs us to tap into His wave length.
Jehoshaphat enquired of the Lord  and God answered Him. He organised a worship  which disorganized the enemies camp. 2Chron. 2:20.
Where there is genuine praise and worship there is the presence of God, which sets in play Gods work.

Sunday Post~Cultivating God's presence through praise and worship

James 4:8

Come near to God and he will come near to you. In the old testament there are circumstances where God drew near to His people but also, on the contrary, instances are recorded where he withdrew from them, 1Sam.4:12 ff.

When the presence of God departed Israel, they were empty. no more protection, no more joy;
this can happen in the life of a christian, remember Samson, he became empty and an ordinary man.

The Laodicean Church Rev.3
This church was equally empty with Christ actually standing outside.http://biblehub.com/revelation/3-20.htm
It is possible to claim you're OK when you're not OK
It is possible to claim you have a reputation yet you actually have no presence.
What God is saying and how you feel are two different things.

Do you want to experience the presence of God; the springs of living waters? http://biblehub.com/john/7-38.htm; Do you want to feel the joy in the Spirit; do you want to have a sense of fear of God? This is possible.

Many times it is possible to loose the fear of God and still perform miracles. God can still use you to bless people but He will hold you accountable for whatever you do.Talent can promote you without presence. We need presence to take precedent.

The presence of God is everywhere; Ps.139, but this presence we need is the #manifest presence of God in our lives.

Don't come to Church expecting to receive this presence, you wont tap it from the worship team, no sermon will make you be filled with this presence, you can only draw it from God-Personally by pressing on in seeking the Lord. And you don't even have to tell anyone that you are seeking this presence.

There is a way i will behave in the presence of the President, how about God Almighty?

Jesus is Risen

Matt. 28: 5-10...Jesus surely died and rose; and all this was for you and I.
Jesus' Crucifixion and Resurrection meant a lot to various categories of people.

To Peter, this meant that His denial of Christ could be turned into absolute dedication of His life to Christ. Peter also learnt that he would not rely on his own, not to deny Christ. Rather, it is only God that can enable him not to deny Christ..

To the apostles at large, the resurrection of Christ meant that they now had a message of triumph for the world. They now could go out and declare in strength and courage that Jesus died and rose, and that they witnessed it all.

This resurrection Sunday, we have learnt that thanks to the eye witnesses that experienced Jesus crucifixion and resurrection, we got to hear about the good news of salvation. We are charged hereby in the same light; as we have known Jesus Christ as our Lord, we ought to be witnesses of Him with all our being. In-other-words, we are to be a gospel of Christ.

What does the Easter story imply to you? and how are you challenged by the greatest love story?

Midweek Post~A Good Friday Salad- Luke 23:34

Journey to the cross Luke 23:34

#1. He forgave His accusers and that includes you and me. V34
For one to receive this forgiviness they got to do as one of the robbers crucified with Jesus;

  1. He acknowledge his sin before God.
  2. He acknowledged Jesus as God.
#2. We have a right to know where we are going- Jesus promised the repentant man in his death moment an eternity.

#3. Jesus assigned his parents to John as caretaker

#4. Eli Eli lema sabachthani Matt.27:45-46

#5. I am thirsty; Jesus took all our thirst and we do not thirst any longer for the unfruitful things of this world.(John. 19:28)

#6. It is finished. John.19:29; Luke 23:46 into your hands I commit my Spirit.
