Genesis 2:7 NKJV And the LORD God formed man [of] the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living being. 

When God created man, three parts were made; the body, the soul and the spirit.   It was an absolutely perfect creation of God.

God gave Adam and Eve the freedom to serve his purpose of worship in the garden of Eden but they abused the freedom instead of obeying God they obeyed the devil. We are all free to use the freedom God has given us in whichever way we want however, it is clear that this freedom is meant to do the will of God, to worship God, to serve Him, to be his people and for Him to be our God.

Man fell and it affected him in 3 areas;

In the body

In the soul and

in the area of his spirit

 

The Body:

Men developed a body that is mortal. 

Genesis 3:19 NKJV In the sweat of your face you shall eat bread Till you return to the ground, For out of it you were taken; For dust you [are,] And to dust you shall return."

After this condition of dying (mortal), the body needs healing because God  intends it to be the temple of the Holy Spirit. 

1 Corinthians 6:19-20 NKJV Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit [who is] in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own? For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God's.

We know that the only way we can glorify God in our body is first of all accepting Jesus Christ as Lord and through the power of the Holy Spirit.

This means we ought to receive physical healing here on earth, that is why Jesus Christ went about healing many sick people- to Glorify God.

The Soul:

The soul also includes the mind

The soul is separated from God and God  wants us to come back to Him. Separation also means spiritual death because we are not born again.

Why is the soul is so important to God? Ezek.18:19-21

Mark 8:36-37 NKJV For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul?

So then, according to Jesus if the soul is the most important thing,  it shouldn't be lost but saved. The ultimate healing for the soul is salvation. If you repent of your sins and accept Jesus as personal Savior and Lord, this answers the question whether your soul is saved.

The mind: 

Before the fall the mind was prefect, It got corrupted after the fall.

Genesis 6:5-6 NKJV Then the LORD saw that the wickedness of man [was] great in the earth, and [that] every intent of the thoughts of his heart [was] only evil continually. And the LORD was sorry that He had made man on the earth, and He was grieved in His heart.

Out of man's heart come evil thoughts Mark.7:20-23 these evil thoughts lead us to all sorts of evil. to have a renewed mind is what we need. To have godly thoughts, praise worthy thoughts, these things only found in the word of God. 

Philippians 4:8 NKJV Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things [are] noble, whatever things [are] just, whatever things [are] pure, whatever things [are] lovely, whatever things [are] of good report, if [there is] any virtue and if [there is] anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things.

When our soul and mind are healed then our thinking patterns will also be healed.

 

The spirit: 

Before the fall, man's spirit was connecting very well with the Spirit of God

But after the fall the spirit in man died. We were separated from the creator through our spirit by sin. But thank God he gave us a solution to our problem of separation and spiritual death.

When we are dead in the body that is physical death but when we are dead in the spirit because of our sin, that is spiritual death.

Genesis 3:15 NKJV And I will put enmity Between you and the woman, And between your seed and her Seed; He shall bruise your head, And you shall bruise His heel."

Therefore we have hope despite the fall that spiritually and even physically separated us from God that everyone who believes shall be saved and receive the healing of God in the soul mind and body.

The healing of the body, soul and mind absolutely depends on what you do with this Jesus Christ. If by accepting him as a personal Savior and Lord, He will heal you and make you a child of God and make you a fellow heir in the Kingdom of God.

RELATIONSHIPS FOR CHRIST’S GLORY-THE POWER OF FORGIVENESS

THREE PERSPECTIVES.

1. The power of being forgiven by God – (Focus on) God’s initiative to save mankind by reconciling us back to God through Christ. 

2. The power of a repentant lifestyle towards God and fellow brethren. 

3. The power a changed/freed heart – The condition of my heart.  

Preamble 

 We are relational beings. God saw that it was not good for Adam to be alone, so he made him a companion. He made us in His image and likeness so that there would be a comparable basis to relate with us. 

 Our relationship with God gives the benchmark for all other vital relationships of life. God charges us to love one another as He has loved us. Not how we choose to. E.g., He charges men to love their wives as Christ loves the church, children implored to obey their parents in the Lord because it right. (John 15:12, Ephesians 5)

 Until we experience the love of God for ourselves, we are not able to pass it on to those we love. We also falter at how we relate to others.  

 Forgiveness is God’s idea and beacon to help us restore broken relationships with both God and fellow brethren.  

 How do we then can we appreciate/measure up this standard of life?

1. The power of being forgiven by God – Our salvation, through a reconciled relationship with God by Christ.

*Meet God Ephesians 2:1-18.

1.1 Humility – Let us never forget where the Lord brought you from, otherwise we lose sense of how much we have been forgiven (Vs 1-3). 

Pastor Amos, the one who has been forgiven the bigger debt forgives more.

– We were dead in our transgressions and sins, following the ways of this world (the desires and thoughts of this contrary to God). Some of us born in Christian households.

– By nature, we were deserving the wrath of God. Script. _ We cannot live without Him, we had no clue that we were lost, and dead. 

1.2 But God great love for us, God who is rich in mercy made us alive through Christ’s death. (Vs. 4)

– The forgiveness from God was not our initiative, not even of how great our great sin was or how remorseful we were (we were dead anyway) but rather because of God’s great love and mercy for us that we are now reconciled to God. To life. 

– The core of forgiveness is experiencing the love and mercy of God.

– David says, (Psalms 32:1) blessed is the man whose sin is not accounted on him. Normally, the transaction of recompense of sin is that the perpetuator pays, here God paid. Imagine that!  

1.3 Christ Himself is our peace, through His body He has broken down the dividing wall of hostility between us and God. 

– We have free accesses to God. No longer enemies of God but children of God. Seated in heavenly places. 

– You have got status. God has raised you up and seated with Christ and seated us with Him in heavenly places. Far above principalities and dominions of this world. 

– Convinced that you do not have it… Yes, you do. 

– You are healed, have a sound mind, above and where Christ has seated you, head and not the tail, you have got the mind of Christ, you are forgiven, the power of hell has no hold on you. God is not mad at you; you are on course for victory. 

– Seen an evil** pierced themselves with many evils

2. The power of a repentant lifestyle towards God and fellow brethren (Contrast of David & Saul)

I Samuel 15:24-30. 

Offender (seeks forgiveness through confession and repentance

Offended – offers forgiveness (Either of them may reach out to resolve the dispute) – Used interchangeably. 

2.1 When we are confronted (correct a sinful pattern or Christian discipline), God’s intention is that we are redeemed. He does not require us to validate wrong doings ourselves but rather humble ourselves before Him and thereby find strength to do what is right. King Hezekiah - Turned back to the wall and prayed 2 kings 20.

2.2 Chapter 16, God rejects Saul, anoints David. The kingdom is transferred ripped away from him. 

2.3 Vs 14, In exchange for the spirit of God and evil spirit tormented Saul.

2.4 From this point on, Saul never settled until his death. He had a conflicted heart. 

Reflections. 

 What could we be losing because we have things, egos, rights, we are holding onto?

 Could we be hurting/ because we fail to repent?

 Reflections from last Sunday (A renewed presence of God, perfect peace and change of hearts)

3. The power of a changed/freed heart. (The Contrast of David and Saul)

3.1 When David faced constant needless persecution from the very person that was supposed to mentor him, someone that had great advantage over him, he did not take vengeance in his hands though he had capacity to do so. He kept honoring Saul as king and Gods anointed one. I Samuel 24:8-13. 

3.2 Interestingly this is the same person that he was ministering to. Howbeit that the very place that was supposed to bring him great joy brought so much contention against him. What kind of resolute heart must David have had? This is not the person I first dated; he was not like this before. 

3.3 God can sustain us in the very place where we face the greatest opposition. 

3.4 The more Saul pursued David; the more David prospered whilst Saul’s life deteriorated. 

Reflections 

 Well as Saul kept pursuing David, he kept doing exploits, growing in favor before God and men as well as turning distressed people into an army, and conquering the enemies of Israel. (I Samuel 22-1-2)

 By doing good, we heap coals of fire on our haters Prov 25:21-22. 

 God can sustain us in the very place where we face the greatest opposition. 

Wrap Up.

1. The standards of God for life are high, we must reach out for them because they will not be lowered down to us. Just as God reconciled us to Himself and continually forgives us, He calls us out to extend the same grace to those that hurt us. 

2. Paul – (Gal 2:20) I have been crucified with Christ, I no longer live but Christ lives in me, the life I live in the flesh, I live by faith to the one who loved me and gave himself for me.

BENEFITS OF WALKING IN FORGIVENESS

Walking in forgiveness is walking with the Lord, it starts with confession & repentance.

Psalms 51:4 NIV Against you, you only, have I sinned and done what is evil in your sight; so, you are right in your verdict and justified when you judge. 

Luke 15:18-21 NIV I will set out and go back to my father and say to him: Father, I have sinned against heaven and against you. I am no longer worthy to be called your son; make me like one of your hired servants.' So, he got up and went to his father. "But while he was still a long way off, his father saw him and was filled with compassion for him; he ran to his son, threw his arms around him and kissed him. "The son said to him, 'Father, I have sinned against heaven and against you. I am no longer worthy to be called your son.'

When we sin, we do so against God this affects our relationship and we are alienated from his presence. 

1-WE RECEIVE PERFECT PEACE

Colossians 1:19-20 NIV For God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in him, and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through his blood, shed on the cross.

Ephesians 2:11-16 NIV Therefore, remember that formerly you who are Gentiles by birth and called "uncircumcised" by those who call themselves "the circumcision" (which is done in the body by human hands)— remember that at that time you were separate from Christ, excluded from citizenship in Israel and foreigners to the covenants of the promise, without hope and without God in the world. But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far away have been brought near by the blood of Christ. For he himself is our peace, who has made the two groups one and has destroyed the barrier, the dividing wall of hostility, by setting aside in his flesh the law with its commands and regulations. His purpose was to create in himself one new humanity out of the two, thus making peace, and in one body to reconcile both of them to God through the cross, by which he put to death their hostility. 

Philippians 4:7 NIV And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Philippians 4:8 Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things. 

Our minds are troubled when we walk in unforgiveness

Therefore, we ought to think as Paul mentions in verse 8 above. It helps us to sustain the peace God has given us.

Philippians 2:5-11 NIV In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus: Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage; rather, he made himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to death— even death on a cross! Therefore, God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. 

Christ cannot be formed in us till we have the mind of Christ.

Isaiah 26:3 NIV You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you. 

Unforgiveness affects the heart. Filling our hearts with rage and unforgiveness makes our hearts hard and cold. We are not able to have the mind of Christ in such a state.

Jeremiah 17:9 NIV The heart is deceitful above all things and beyond cure. Who can understand it?

When we seek forgiveness, God removes our hearts of stone and creates a heart of flesh and gives us peace.

The Lord searches our hearts and mind and rewards us according to our conduct.

2-CHANGE OF HEART

Psalms 51:10 NIV Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me. 

Psalms 51:17 NIV My sacrifice, O God, is a broken spirit; a broken and contrite heart you, God, will not despise. 

●Unforgiveness is sin and it makes God turn his face away from us, the Holy Spirit can't dwell in a body full of the fruit of unforgiveness.

●Sin casts us away from God's presence, but we are restored when we walk in forgiveness 

3-GOD RESTORES HIS PRESENCE IN US

"When GOD made man, he first created the environment, likewise our environment where we are made to thrive is in the presence of God, unforgiveness drives us out of this environment."

But thanks, be God who restores us when we return to him by walking in forgiveness and repentance. 

Summary of benefits of walking in forgiveness

●God will dwell in us

●He will renew our mind

●He restores us

●He takes away the heart of stone and gives us a heart of flesh

●He brings us joy unspeakable

Walking in forgiveness_ Living as forgiven and a forgiving person

_Then the LORD came down in the cloud and stood there with him and proclaimed his name, the LORD. And he passed in front of Moses, proclaiming, "The LORD, the LORD, the compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger, abounding in love and faithfulness, maintaining love to thousands, and forgiving wickedness, rebellion and sin. Yet he does not leave the guilty unpunished; he punishes the children and their children for the sin of the parents to the third and fourth generation."_

You did not give me any water for my feet, but she wet my feet with her tears and wiped them with her hair. The other guests began to say among themselves, "Who is this who even forgives sins?" Jesus said to the woman, "Your faith has saved you; go in peace."_

_Luke 7:49 NIV The other guests began to say among themselves, "Who is this who even forgives sins?"_ 

This involves coming to Jesus and knowing him and his attributes.

*$Walking in forgiviness involves accepting forgivingess$* through two arms; *1-Confession* (agreeing with God  that am a sinner, sinful, weak  wretched, empty etc)  

*Psalms 32:1-5 NIV* _Blessed is the one whose transgressions are forgiven, whose sins are covered. Blessed is the one whose sin the LORD does not count against them and in whose spirit is no deceit. When I kept silent, my bones wasted away through my groaning all day long. For day and night your hand was heavy on me; my strength was sapped as in the heat of summer. Then I acknowledged my sin to you and did not cover up my iniquity. I said, "I will confess my transgressions to the LORD." And you forgave the guilt of my sin._

*1 John 1:8-9 NIV* _If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness._

*2-Repenting*

_"When he came to his senses, he said, 'How many of my father's hired servants have food to spare, and here I am starving to death! I will set out and go back to my father and say to him: Father, I have sinned against heaven and against you._

_Sometimes the way forward is to turn back- in the economy of God it is to confess and repent._

We should repent genuinely and not because we were found out

_Godly sorrow brings repentance that leads to salvation and leaves no regret, but worldly sorrow brings death._

*$Walking in forgiviness involves us walking worthy of God's calling$*

*Ephesians 4:1 I NKJV,* 

_therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you to walk worthy of the calling with which you were called,_

*$Walking in forgiviness demands me to preach forgiviness$*

If it is true, then someone  else needs to hear the message

Confronting Storms 2

Restoration in Humility

Humility the number one recipe to restoration 2Chron.7:14

Humility is the environment that enables you to pray.

It is impossible to seek God in our pride Psalm. 10:4.

God resists the proud and gives grace to the humble. 1Pet.5:5

Sometimes it looks difficult bit it pays.

Romans 12:3 NLT 

For by the grace given me I say to every one of you: Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourself with sober judgment, in accordance with the faith God has distributed to each of you.

Saying sorry to someone lower than us doesn't remove any credentials from us but only makes us better.

Psalms 51:17 NLT

My sacrifice, O God, is a broken spirit; a broken and contrite heart you, God, will not despise.

Psalms 56:8 NLT

You keep track of all my sorrows. You have collected all my tears in your bottle. You have recorded each one in your book.

You cannot seek God when the first ordinance isn't working.

Job. 41:1

The spirit of pride is a contrary spirit to the will, the spirit, the power, and the word of God

The spirit of pride cannot be hooked out , the spirit of humility is the one that can accept the hook. The hook is the word of God.

James 1:21 NIV 

Therefore, get rid of all moral filth and the evil that is so prevalent and humbly accept the word planted in you, which can save you.

At the bottom of the sea

Its never easy to be thankful in tough times. It takes faith but also  deeper understanding of God's ways and patience that produces endurance & expectation from the Lord.

1-Attitude Change 

"Your attitude rather than your aptitude will determine your altitude" Zig Ziglar

We not only say thank you in good times, when we receive gifts or are well physically or even emotionally. In fact oftentimes than not we are ungrateful for such times. But this is when God requires our thanksgiving attitude. He is up to  something* learn it perceive it, have knowledge of his working. Isa.43:19.

Job 2:10 NIV

He replied, "You are talking like a foolish woman [a] woman. Shall we accept food from God, and not trouble?" In all this, Job did not sin in what he said.

Phil:4:6-9 NIV

4 Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! 5 Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. 6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7 And the peace of God,which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

2-Knowing God and His Will 
"Praise Him for the roses; thank Him for the thorns."

A deeper relationship with the Lord makes us overcome the trials. Jonah, David, Moses, Peter, James & John Elijah had such deep conversational relationships with God.

Several examples in scripture teach us to be grateful, from their "bottom of the sea" we see an attitude of thanksgiving. God rewards that!. He is faithful to those who trust in Him.

Gen 50:20 NIV

The purposes of God have to be fulfilled, his will has to prevail. That's the reason we are in the sea bed, in the belly some times. 

20 You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives.

Jonah:2:1-10 MSG 

Here is a perfect example of God's will. A man running from God's will ends up at the sea bed, in the belly of a fish. He reconciles himself to God and offers a prayer of thanksgiving.

Those who worship hollow gods, god-frauds, walk away from their only true love. But I’m worshiping you, God, calling out in thanksgiving! And I’ll do what I promised I’d do! Salvation belongs to God!” 10 Then God spoke to the fish, and it vomited up Jonah on the seashore.

3-Remain Humble
1 Peter.5:6; 10-11

We should recognize God is putting us in line with Himself, so many times we go astray and become proud then God allows for the difficult times to come to us. He also uses those times to shape our character so we can be reputable.

6 Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time. 7 Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.

10 And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast. 11 To him be the power for ever and ever. Amen.

4-Sing Out
Acts 16:16-34 NIV; 1Thes.5:16-18 NLT

Our thanksgiving and praise releases us from the yoke and bondage of the enemy but it will also release those  around us, including our captors. The difficult times we face may symbolize jail or detention but there cometh a time or release, and our freedom is in our worship/ thanksgiving. This means that even in prison I should have an attitude of a victor- winner, then can i offer thanksgiving.

16Always be joyful. 17Never stop praying. 18Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus.

Be watchful as a disciple of Jesus

For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men,  Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;  Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;  Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.
Titus 2:11-14
The only condition to be a disciple of Jesus Christ is to accept him as your Lord and Savior
2Peter 3:17-18
Ye therefore, beloved, seeing ye know these things before, beware lest ye also, being led away with the error of the wicked, fall from your own steadfastness.  But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen.
The only thing that can save us from false teachings is growth in the grace and knowledge of Jesus Christ.
We must be faithful servants
Mathew 24:44-47
Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh.   Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his Lord hath made ruler over his household, to give them meat in due season?   Blessed is that servant, whom his Lord when he cometh shall find so doing.   Verily I say unto you, That he shall make him ruler over all his goods.

Be watchful, only the holy spirit can keep you watching

Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh.
We should purify ourselves
1John3:1-3
Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not.  Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.  And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure.
Hope entails responsibility
Where God gives hope, there will be responsibility
Holiness is not following rules, it is following Jesus closely
We must know the things that hinder our hope
Luke 21:34
And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that day come upon you unawares.
Don't allow the devil to put you in his pocket because your spiritually cold

The days of preparation marked by;
False prophets
Lots of crimes . Next we will be the Rapture, 1Thes 4:13
Tribulation will then begin. Rev.6; Luk.21:36; 2Thess.2:7-8. Satan imitates the ways of God. He will come in the form a human being mimicking Christ. This Antichrist will control the world in 3main aspects;
*The economy
*Religion and
*Politics.
The great tribulation will follow the tribulation. Rev.11:1-2, Mark.13:14 then,
The glorious appearing of Christ. Rev.19:14-21.
Jesus highlighted and emphasised the following;
*Be careful do not be deceived (Matt.24:4) the gifts of utterance include prophecy, tongues, interpretation and these are being used by the devil. The power of miracles is not absolutely from God. But let's test the spirit. Sometimes God allows a false prophet to test our faith. (Deut.13:1-4).
  *Signs (Matt.24:32) biblical interpretation would be the restoration of the nation of Israel. (Amos.9:13-15)
*The need to be ready (Matt.24:45).

The Blessed Hope

For the grace of God has appeared that offers salvation to all people. It teaches us to say “No” to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age, while we wait for the blessed hope—the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ, who gave himself for us to redeem us from all wickedness and to purify for himself a people that are his very own, eager to do what is good.

A blessed hope is the glorious appearing of our God and Saviour Jesus Christ. Death comes to us before this glorious appearing,  but we should look at this death with hope because our Saviour Jesus in whom we believe has conquered death. When we loose loved ones in the Lord,  we mourn with hope. 1Thess. 4:13-18 NIV

Our Hope is built on the gospel,  on sound doctrine laid down by the Holy Spirit.

Therefore we should watch out for the condemnation of the devil as Paul warns in 1 Tim. 3:6NIV

Waiting upon the Lord in righteousness

Genesis 6:1-8, In vs 18, Noah is commanded to build an ark.

It took Noah 120 years but he went ahead to build the ark. This is obedience to the words of the Lord.

When the floods came, Noah was saved. As we wait upon the Lord, are we stranding doing nothing. The Lord wants us to live a Holy life.

What to do as you wait on the Lord

- Allow God to prune you. Hebrews 12:4
Take is seriously when the Lord starts to deal with us. He rebukes us because he loves us.
He disciplines us for our own good.  The Gardner prunes the plants because he wants a good harvest.
Amos 7:7

- We need to allow Jesus Christ to live in us.
- Our God is a holy God and a consuming fire. Exodus 3:1-7

As we wait upon the Lord, are there things we need to surrender to the Lord. We need to let go of the things that hinder us from coming to the presence of the Lord.

May God help us to let go of the things that don't bring glory to his name.

- Total submission. James 4:1 Allow God to take charge.. Surrender to God, He is faithful

If God us working in us, let us allow Him to work in us.... otherwise, life Will be meaningless.

You don't want to walk through this world and leave empty..

Mounting with Wings

Isaiah 40:28-31 New International Version (NIV)

28 Do you not know?
    Have you not heard?
The Lord is the everlasting God,
    the Creator of the ends of the earth.
He will not grow tired or weary,
    and his understanding no one can fathom.
29 He gives strength to the weary
    and increases the power of the weak.

2018 Theme ~ Mounting with Wings

We shall take time and wait on the Lord (Jan - Mar 2018)

This refers to hoping with expectation, totally depending on God and having a willingness to allow God determine the terms and timing.

It will include Prayer; Bible study and meditation and developing the discipline of quiet time. It should be noted that waiting takes time. David waited for a long time before he could become king and even when it came; he was in exile, not the way we would have humanely expected a king to be enthroned. It’s always on God’s terms and timing.

Mounting with wings into the mission field (Apr - Jun 2018)

To mount is to go up or ascend over obstacles. It involves surmounting threats of predator. It involves strength and courage in dangerous, turbulent weather, soaring above the storms to safety.

In the coming year, we shall mount and leave our problems below us, as we go higher and put our energies and efforts on our higher calling in ministry and missions.

Running and walking with endurance (Jul - Sep 2018)

(Heb 12:1-2)

Endurance calls for tenacity, commitment, training and self-discipline. This calls for growth of the Christian. When you grow weary of running, don’t stop, keep walking.

We should consider the basics of our Christian walk (2 cor 5:7) – walking by FAITH and not by sight.

Looking beyond this life with hope (Oct - Dec 2018)

(Heb 11:13-19)

This refers to a life of PURPOSE, going through the challenges of life, including death with hope; looking to life beyond the earth (HEAVEN) with THANKSGIVING.

The Gift of the Father-Christmas

God manifested himself in Human body John.1.1-4;14
The greatest gift God could give us was the gift of a Saviour
The importance of the gift determines how you received it by the way you received it
Christmas is the good news concerning the gift from the Father
This Gift is contained in the book of Luke.1:26; 2:8
the first people who received the news were the shepherds and they received it with eagerness and enthusiasm.
This is the most important news that we have been given a Saviour and this Saviour is for all people, all nations etc;
No matter how free it is you will never have it until you receive it

Luke.2:25; Simeon was advanced in age but waiting to see the salvation of God.
The long awaited prophecy had been fulfilled.
There is a mission God wants for us all to accomplish before we are called to die.
when you are a child of God who has received the gift of God, you have the confidence to live. the devil has no power over your life.

Luke. 2:36- Anna received the good news of the Messiahs coming, she was a godly lady
God is committed to fulfilling his promise in your life, family. God is committed to fulfilling his part.

Matt.2:1 The Magi were wisemen from the east and they heard of the birth of Christ, they came to worship the new born King. They carried the best Gifts very valuable gifts.

Luke.2:3-4 King Herod gave a bad reception he was disturbed at what was good news; a kind of the devil Matt.2:3- the Transforming power of the word of God is experienced in the heart and not in the head

How God prepared his people for the coming of His Son Jesus

These are some of the ways God prepared his people;

1-By giving them a promise Gen 3:15
A promise from God is as good as God Himself, when He promises, He will fulfill
God fulfilled the Promise in Gal.4:4

2-By Entering into a covenant with them- Gen.12:1-2; 17:7-9
We must to learn to wait upon Gods promises and He will give you and fulfill these promises at the right time. Pray for the grace of God to wait; don't hurry God. Abraham hurried God and ended up with Ishmael. The Lord our God is faithful He will answer you in the right place and in the right time

3-God prepared a family
He came through a family through a virgin girl- Mary. Luke.1:26

Salvation is bigger

Salvation is bigger than belonging to a church.

Salvation is even bigger than ministry; it is a personal relationship with Jesus.

Salvation is way bigger than a religion and/ or congregation.

Scriptural Reference: Matt 16: 13 – 18.

Get out of the crowd and start pursing Jesus on a personal basis.

It is on this basis that you receive certain revelations of God

In the flesh, we use the 5 senses for revelation.

In the spiritual realm, senses do not account for any revelation.

That realm of revelation is dependent on faith

Our mirror is the word of God.

What does the word of God say about you?       

When everything around you is saying contrary to what you ought to be as a Christian, look at the mirror – the Bible.

The Holy Spirit is not a feeling. We can’t feel things in the Spiritual Realm. We can’t walk the 

Christian Life basing on feeling.

We walk the Christian Life basing on the word of God, the Bible.

We are part and person of the body of Christ.

We are thereby supposed to lead our lives with caution and reverence because we are temples of God.

The Christian journey is a mental one more than anything

As a Christian, you should live your life based on the revelation that Jesus is the Christ, the son of the living God Col 1: 13

Where are you going?

DC is celebrating 50 years, but where are you going?

When you go to a place, leave it in the state you found it or better.

Even DC, are we going to repeat the same things that we have seen over the years or are we going to connect to a greater glory? God moves form glory to glory to glory.

Its not about possessions, but connecting to God's current moves, things of the world are  a by the way in the bible: Mathew 6:33, we are not talking about cars, houses, etc, coz they are a by the way, there is need to connect to a greater place with God.

You need to get to a place where you are very sure you are walking with God at that moment..

We need to spend more time in the presence of the Lord and make out relationship with Him more solid, we need to pray and seek the Lord and its not only for the youth, but for the whole church of the Lord.

A saved person will definitely go to heaven, but even in heaven there will be rewards, and your reward in eternity is dependent upon the results you provide, when Christ asks you for the number of people you had to lead to Him, and you have none, what excuse will you give Him? Office and businesses is part of the work of the Lord.

The church is a place to be equipped for service of the Lord.

Concerning DC Uganda, aren't we tired of just being part of the society, as DC marks 50 years,  in the next 50 years we should be able to change the nation and society around us. We need to stop religion, just to fulfill a ceremony ,and we need to work with God in every part of our lives.

Christianity is not a duty, but a life style. We need to connect with Jesus. Is it possible for us to connect with something greater that what we are just used too?

Where DC is going you need to have an impact, you need to enter a hospital and people start getting healed, you need to have huge faith, for example as a church, say we are going to open up a number of churches in the Village and throw out the norms we are used too like Strategic planning and let God do what He wants us to do. Ask God for what He wants and let His will be done.

For Uganda, we are the Hope of this nation and if we connect to God, then the nation will connect to God. We've made ourselves so comfortable and we are not moving to particular places coz of different excuses.

Daniel 2:44 The stone that hit the statue and it crushed.

The new Kingdom will crash the work of the devil, we are living in the new Kingdom, we are the new Kingdom that will crush the works of the devil.

We are the ones to bring stability in this world, because we are the salt of this world.

We are in the times where God has come to crush other Kingdoms, our fresh start is to crush each and every thing and making sure that the Kingdom of God is reigning in every sphere of life.

God didn't put us here to survive but to dominate, you either catch up with what He is doing, or be apart of it, we are not just going to exists but have impact.

Financial Principles

Seek first the kingdom of God  Mathew 6:33

If you are going to stretch out financially, then set out to seek the kingdom of God and also His righteousness.
You have to be a seeker of the Kingdom of God..
2 chronicles 31:20-21 Hezekiah did everything right, true in obedience to the word of God and he prospered.
Psalms 1:3, Psalms 37:25-26, You can break a curse upon your life and your descendants by seeking the Lord.

If you are to stretch out financially, first things must come first; Mathew 7:7

1. Ask and you will be given
2. Seek and you will find
3. Knock and the door will be opened

 Ask, Seek, Knock

When the fullness fo time comes, you will knock into your destiny.. Your circumstances will not be able to stop it, because the promises of the Lord are yes and amen...

Diligence Deuteronomy 8:1-2

1. Be diligent in what you are doing
2. Be consistent and hard working
3. Be persistent and careful

When you work hard consistently and persistently, being careful in what you do, the Lord will set you above, on high you will prosper in whatever you do...

When you are diligent in what you do, then you will become the only choice available... Everything will work out for you, because of your diligence.

Be diligent in what you are doing, lets be diligent people of the Lord, so diligent that even your enemies will look for you..

Giving causes increase, first you must give to God, in that you are honoring God...

Pharaoh doesn't mind how much you pray, preach fast, as long as he is in charge of your possessions, we need to set free our possessions form the york of the enemy because the Lord needs everything we have to worship Him..

End time events and why are they important to us?

Stage of preparation

We are preparing for the coming of the Lord, Mathew 24:1-3

1. When will these things come?
2. What wil be the sign of your second coming?
3. What will be the sign of the age?

Mathew 24:4, The most important preparation is not to be deceived... there is deception everywhere today...
Mathew 24:6, Wars, famine, the Gospel will be preached...

Although these are the signs of the second coming of the Lord, the Lord will protect His own people.

Rapture This is what we are waiting for next, 1 Thessalonians 4:13
When you are in Jesus and Jesus is in you, you don't die miserably, what happens is you just sleep and then wake up in front of Jesus...

When they wake up, they wake up before the Lord of Lords and the King of Kings.. when the trumpet is heard, those who dies in Jesus will rise up and we who are alive together with them, we shall be caught up in the air, this is the _Rapture_

In the stories of the 7 churches in the book of Revelations, there was only one church ready for the rapture.. Revelations 3:10

Jesus is coming to take the church up, we don't know when, but He is coming, then there will be the time of tribulation.

Tribulation will be a time of trouble, it will take a period of 7 years..
The Anti Christ can't come yet, because the rapture hasn't happened yet.. 2 Thessalonians 2.

The Anti-Christ wants to control:
1- The Economy
2- The Military
3- Religion
