Raising a Godly family

Men, we protect women and children wherever we are, whether they are strangers or not, but once you are present, speak up.

The favour of the Lord will go before you.

Keep faithful to the Lord and He will make your paths straight.

Raising a Godly family.

Institutions ordained by God:

1. Family
2. Church
3. State

Each have there own responsibilities, one cannot do what the other is supposed to do.

God attaches very high value on the family.  He personally put together the first family.

God sent Jesus through a family, because He holds the family as a very important organisation, He would have sent him directly. 
Today the family is under attack,  Genesis 6:6,

If we are going to do something about a family, then we must go back to the foundations of the family.

Once the foundation is set right, then the organisation will last.

The foundation needed for a Godly family

God created family and marriages to be sweet fulfilling and to bring great joy.

1. A family is a reflection if the relationship with God, every relationship God shows us is a reflection of the family.
2. A family is the medium through which the kingdom of God is extended. Genesis 1:28, as the family extends, so does the kingdom of God.
3. Malachi 2:15 God demands Godly offspring.
4. A family is a place that shows the heart of God.

As a father, you need to mentor your Children, a firm them and bless them... Children without the father's blessing people get ruined, it takes a father to turn a girl into a woman and a boy into a man.

Its important for fathers to affirm there children, when fathers don't do that there children get ruined.

Genesis 18:18-19

The family is at the foundation of every nation.

Until the family is able and experiencing prosperity, the nation will not prosper, it will have no future, 

The hand that rocks the cradle, is the hand that rules the world

The foundation of a family is marriage, the quality of the marriage will determine the quality of the family, if the marriage is weak, the family will be weak and vice versa.

A marriage is a covenant not an agreement or contract. Malachi 2:14

A covenant gives 100% to the other person, its business where you give a percentage less than 100%.

The job of the husband is to love the wife, irrespective of whether they submit to you or not.

1 Peter 2:3

Its not for you to change the lady but its for you to love them... 

Young people, how do you live your life?

1. Build your faith and walk with Christ. 
2. Build your values, values are very important in life; honesty, character, skills, these are much more important than what you can do, God looks at the heart. 
3. Obey your parents and those with authority over you. 
4. Keep your sexuality. Your sexuality is your birthright. 
5. Be patient, because there is time for everything.

Confronting Giants in life

Psalm 84:4-7  

Let’s continue to go higher in the Lord, when the Lord is taking us higher, He is with us, every step of the way.

Joshua 3:1-13

We shall overcome giants only in the presence of the Lord, there is no giant that is greater than the Lord.

The Lord has promised to go with us, be with us, and fight for us.

Haggai 2:9 God want to do greater things in our midst. It’s beautiful to be in the presence of the Lord, but the Lord we serve is a holy God.

The Lord is very clear, He is calling us to sanctify yourselves for he wants to do wonders in our lives.

Joshua 3:5 Sanctify yourselves, for the Lord will do wonders in you tomorrow, if you are going to see the work of the Lord tomorrow, then sanctify yourselves.

Sanctification is a personal thing, you have a part to play.

Hebrews 12:1, what does it mean to sanctify yourself?

Whatever your weight is, it might be a habit, attitude, sin, memory, etc., but there is a weight that could be holding you, let it aside, because its stopping you from soaring high and getting into the presence of the Lord.

When you get into the presence of the Lord, He will do wondrous things in your life.

Like the Eagle, it renews itself by removing its feathers, beak, and claws, let’s sanctify ourselves, let’s let go of the weights that have hindered us from accessing the presence of the Lord.

Once the Eagle has renewed itself, it can then saw, hunt, and also greatly increase its life span.

Joshua 7 The armies of Israel were defeated, because Akan had done what the Lord had refused the Israelites from doing, because of this sin, the children of Israel could not stand in front of their enemies, but until they had destroyed the items that Akan had brought in their camp.

When we are in right standing with the Lord, then we shall overcome every giant that stands in our way, the Lord is a God of renewal, He is a God of a second chance, He will surely restore you, you can ask for cleansing, and the Lord will work in your life.

Sanctify yourself, lay aside every weight that could be pulling you down

From Oppression to Restoration.

A giant is something that's bigger than you.

Because its bigger than you, it's imposed over you and it can challenge you.

Sometimes we fear giants because of their size, the imposing on them there is always something bigger than you wherever you go.

Moving from oppression to a place of restoration.

Oppression comes in different forms, it means you are put in a Conner by a power or something that's greater than you.

The first instinct of facing oppression is to run away from it.  Sometimes you have to face the oppression.

You have to back back at oppression, you have to respond to this fear.

Oppression is a place of captivity, its a place of no choice. But there is a way out, the power of the holy spirit will provide a way out.

Oppression takes faith out of you and puts fear, it takes courage and puts anxiety. Oppression takes something out of you and replaces it with another thing.

Isaiah 35:1-10

The wilderness will turn into a stream of rivers, the God we serve is able to break the back bone of oppression, your weak points will be made strong to accomplish the will of God in thus life

Ecclesiastes 7:7

When oppression comes in, a man can become mad.

When you are oppressed, you use reason, why are there Christians today who are part of exploitation, its because they use reason when faced with oppression. Be content in the Lord.

You shall not be ignorant of what God has for you.

Powerlessness causes depression, it causes you to dine with the enemy, with hope that he will help you out of it.

The word of God is a powerful too that will take us from oppression to restoration.

We are oppressed because we don't know what is in the Bible, how much time do we spend in oppression with no knowledge of what is in the word of the Lord?

Oppression will make you loose your alertness.

In order to move to restoration, you need knowledge of the word of the Lord.

 

May God Himself, bring you to a place of restoration in your life.
